A local-first desktop app for recording and transcribing meetings — designed to look like it belongs on a 1991 Macintosh.
Meeting recorders are cloud-first, heavy, and generic — your audio leaves your machine and lands on someone else's server. I wanted the opposite: a small, native, local-first recorder that transcribes on-device, and that's a genuine pleasure to look at.
A menu-bar app that records meetings and transcribes them locally with Whisper. It started life in Electron and has since migrated to Tauri v2 — dramatically lighter, system-native, and fast to launch. The interface is a deliberate homage to System 7: chunky chrome, pixel type, the works.
Status: in progress. This one's a work-in-progress, and I'm building it because I want to use it — not to ship a product.
